Sun Elf — Scars of Honor race

Sun Elves are the Sacred Order's elven race and the product of a deliberate rewrite: they replaced an earlier Moon Elf direction, and their lore ties them by blood to the Infernal Demons they now fight. After a past demonic war they renounced what they were made for and prayed to a different power; the god of the sun answered and transformed them. They were not playable in the April–May 2026 technical alpha, and as of spring 2026 the race was still in concept and modelling.
Who the Sun Elves are — lore and place in the world
The Elves of Iron Garf are presented as Sun Elves, and the knowledge base is explicit that this replaced an earlier Moon Elf direction. Their lore ties them to a shared heritage with the Infernal Demons — the two races come from the same origin. After a past demonic war they renounced their original purpose and sought a different divine power.
According to that account the god of the sun answered their prayers and transformed them. They now sustain themselves through sunlight and holy solar fire rather than through their former demonic nature. Their capital is Astal Lumina.
The story the developers describe is one of transcendence and self-definition: Sun Elves are framed as trying to move beyond the purpose for which they were originally made, and to determine their own place in a shattered world. In faction terms they are aligned more closely with the Humans, while the Undead pursue their own agenda.
The naming change was a design decision before it was a lore one. The transformation from a conventional high-elf concept into Sun Elves is explained as a deliberate attempt to avoid overused moon-elf and night-elf conventions; the sun was chosen as the thematic opposite of the moon, so the race would read as a fresh interpretation rather than a repetition of a familiar template. Traces of the older naming survive in the sources — a November 2025 discussion still calls them High Elves when listing likely additions.
That shared ancestry with the demons is the most load-bearing fact about this race. It is why their appearance had to be designed against the demon silhouette rather than merely differently from it, and it gives the Sacred Order's holiest-looking race a demonic origin that the faction's own framing does not advertise.
Racial bonuses and passives
No racial bonus has been published for Sun Elves. Nothing has been published for any race — the racial-traits system is undecided, and the developers have said so twice on the record.
The December 2025 statement described traits as still under internal discussion rather than removed, and explained their absence from the redesigned website as a symptom of that unresolved debate. The technical objection given was scale: with roughly 300 talent nodes in the tree, flat percentage racial bonuses risk compounding into something disproportionately strong. The case in favour, stated in the same discussion, is that race choice ought to mean something mechanically and not only visually. Designers were described as split.
In April 2026 a community Q&A got the same position from the development side: traits are under internal design debate, the dominant concern is that over-tuning turns race selection into a stat calculation instead of an identity choice, and if traits do ship they are unlikely to be game-breaking or highly impactful. Nothing final was locked.
For a race defined by solar transformation there is an obvious hook here — sunlight, holy fire, glowing channels — and none of it has been attached to a mechanic. Treat any Sun Elf racial you see quoted elsewhere as invention until the developers publish a list.
Which classes they can play
The list below comes from the game client data this site's gear planner runs on. It is a faction-level pool: every Sacred Order race carries the same seven entries, and the Domination races carry a different seven.
Sun Elves are the clearest case of that pool not matching what players actually met. When the race/class information circulated in March 2026, Sun Elf players found they could not be Mages, and the reaction was disbelief — a sun-powered elven race is exactly the archetype most players expect to be comfortable with magic. Sun Elf Warrior existing without Sun Elf Mage was singled out as especially odd, and the request for a Sun Elf Mage was still being made in April.
Because the race was not playable in the April–May 2026 alpha, none of this was tested in a build. What is on record is that the matrix is provisional: official April 2026 messaging presented a full race × class table as the current plan for early access and likely 1.0 while calling it subject to change, an earlier chart was withdrawn in March for not reflecting the latest setup, and in late April the developers said combinations were still being adjusted in response to feedback.

Where our planner disagrees
The planner also offers: Mage.
The planner is missing: Mystic.
Our gear planner stores one class list per faction rather than per race, so it disagrees with the official site for seven of the eight races. The list above is the official one; the planner is what needs fixing.
How they look — appearance and customisation
Sun Elves have ash-toned skin and glowing markings tied to solar power. The markings are described as channels through which their hot, almost molten blood carries the power of the sun, and a forehead symbol is part of the same identity — intended to be shared by both sexes. The developers also mentioned plans for the markings and symbols to light up during spellcasting, stated as subject to technical feasibility rather than as a promise.
The visual goal is a race transformed by divine solar power rather than one built from conventional high-elf or moon-elf motifs. Multiple skin variations and sub-racial options are said to exist within that direction.
The hardest constraint on the design comes from the lore. Because Sun Elves and Infernal Demons share an origin, the main challenge stated in March 2026 was making the race distinct from the demons rather than the same silhouette in a different colour. Horns were specifically rejected for Sun Elves on the grounds that the feature would overlap too strongly with the demon design language. What the concept leans on instead is pointed ears and fiery motifs, with a glowing or emissive back element favoured over a flat tattoo treatment.
Progress is behind the other races. In March 2026 the Sun Elf was shown at an earlier exploratory stage than its peers, with an early female concept presented while body type and overall silhouette were still being explored. In April 2026 the female elf was described as actively in development, alongside interest in seeing the eventual female orc and male elf results — which places the male model later still.

What is still unknown
No finished in-game Sun Elf model has been shown. The female version was in active development as of April 2026 and the male version had not started, so the race's final look is genuinely open. It is not known whether the emissive markings will light up during spellcasting — the developers attached that to technical feasibility. Whether Sun Elves gain access to Mage is unresolved, and because the race was absent from the alpha, no class combination for it has been tested in a build. No racial passives exist for any race. There is no announced release date; early access is estimated for Q1 2027 with nothing official behind it.
