Paladin gear and race art previews
In addition to the Paladin mechanics showcase, the recording briefly covers character visuals, armor presentation, and race model progress.
Character and armor presentation
The Paladin's current in-game appearance is described as improved compared to earlier presentations, particularly in material response and metallic surface depth. Even in a Unity-side development view rather than a full build, the character model is said to show better visual quality than before.
The team also discusses newly added armor sets and a broader workflow change for equipment art. Rather than relying only on texture swaps, the stated goal is to make armor pieces visually distinct and more impactful on the character silhouette.
Capes are confirmed to exist, though none are properly equipped during the recording because the relevant item identifier is not available at the time.
Placeholder and unfinished assets
Some enemies and visuals shown during gameplay are placeholders. One example is a creature configured mechanically as a spider while still using a skeleton-like visual model. This is presented as normal for the development build being used.
Elf model progress
A female elf model is shown in an early state. It is described as not yet in the game client, but already in production internally. The previewed version lacks final hair and other finishing elements, and further customization work is expected.
The main caution raised around the elf model is animation quality and how well the final animations will match the intended look.
Orc model direction
A male orc model is also shown. The current direction favors a large, bulky, physically imposing orc. This is contrasted with an alternative concept of a smaller, more crooked or sneaky-looking orc, which is mentioned as a personal preference rather than the chosen direction.
The broader observation is that several non-human races in Scars of Honor are trending toward large and massive silhouettes, including orcs, Gronthar, and Barons.
Other race progress
The Baron race is said to already exist in-game, though it is not shown because its posing and animation state is not yet ready for presentation. An orc male model is in progress, and the female elf is actively being developed. The recording also mentions interest in seeing the future female orc and male elf results.
Future class-related art
The stream briefly references ongoing armor work for future classes, including priest and warrior. The stated art direction emphasizes armor that visually stands out rather than appearing as simple texture overlays.
