The Scars of Honor Steam playtest runs from 30 April through 11 May 2026. This is a technical test: the build is not final, and your feedback (especially via Discord and bug reports) helps the team improve the game before release.

Quick links

How to get access (Steam)

  1. Open the Steam store page for Scars of Honor.
  2. Use Request playtest access (or the playtest entry point Steam shows for the app).
  3. Access is granted progressively during the window — check email and Steam notifications regularly so you do not miss your wave.

This matches how the studio describes the process in the April 30 playtest overview video.

What is available during the playtest

Aligned with the official infographic and Steam “what to expect” news:

Open-world PvE

  • Ondal’s Fall — questing and exploration in this region.
  • World boss: Lord of Shadows — a major PvE encounter that expects group coordination; rewards are tuned to match the challenge.

PvP

  • Arena — skill-based formats including 1v1, 2v2, and 2v2v2.
  • Battleground: Mourning Pass5v5 faction-style fights.

Character options & progression

  • Six races: Bearan, Human, Dwarf, Gronthar, Infernal Demon, Undead.
  • Four classes: Mage, Paladin, Druid, Ranger.
  • Starting level 16 with starter gear so you can jump into systems quickly.
  • Talent system — large per-class trees on the order of ~200 nodes to experiment with.
  • Scars system — unlock and engage with Scars as you defeat strong enemies.
  • Gathering & crafting — early versions of professions such as fishing, mining, and blacksmithing (and related loops).

What to expect from the test

Focus is on core gameplay, server stability, and bugs. Dungeons are not the headline for this window; a larger dedicated test for dungeon content is planned later. Treat patch notes and official posts as the source of truth if anything shifts during the event.
