Living world design and gameplay pillars
Scars of Honor is framed as a living-world MMORPG built around exploration, conquest, and social activity. The developers describe the game as a world-first MMO rather than a character-first or lobby-driven experience.
The design is organized around four pillars: a dynamic world map, movement, combat, and celebration of player activity through co-op and PvP. The world is meant to change over time through events, choices, and zone-level activity rather than remaining static after the main story is completed.
Dynamic world map
The world map is described as a sandbox-like structure in which events and player choices alter what is happening across zones. The studio says it does not want a model where players finish a zone and never return; instead, zones are expected to keep changing across hours, days, and weeks.
Special activities are intended to have their own progression tracks and rewards. Fishing, for example, is presented as a mastery path with tournaments and recognition for players who specialize in it.
Movement as a core system
Movement is treated as a major part of the game loop rather than a simple way to travel between objectives. The developers say they want travel to feel physical and engaging, with locations mattering and with less reliance on teleport-style convenience. They also describe movement as something that should not become boring downtime.
Social and multiplayer emphasis
The studio says the game is built around doing things with other players or against other players. Co-op and PvP are presented as ways to enrich nearly every activity in the world, rather than as isolated side modes.
