Quest navigation and clarity
Quest usability is discussed in terms of how much guidance players should receive and how easily objectives can be missed.
Minimal guidance versus modern readability
A key question is whether quests should rely heavily on text and player memory, or whether modern players need clearer navigation support. The concern is that objectives without map guidance can be easy to overlook, especially when the player does not already know the area.
This is framed not only as a convenience issue but also as an accessibility issue. Players who do not read the quest text closely, or who are playing in a language they do not fully understand, may struggle to complete objectives if the interface offers too little help.
Importance of clear objective presentation
The preferred direction implied by the discussion is not total automation, but better clarity. Objectives that blend into the environment or rely on obscure placement are seen as easy to miss and therefore frustrating rather than rewarding.
The underlying design concern for Scars of Honor is that quests should remain immersive without becoming unreadable. Guidance should help players understand what to do and where to go, especially when the alternative is accidental failure to engage with content at all.
