Scars of Honor's stated MMORPG design vision

Scars of Honor is framed as an attempt to build an MMORPG that respects both classic genre values and modern design expectations. The stated goal is not to reproduce older games directly, but to recover what made them meaningful while avoiding outdated frustrations.

Design direction

The project vision emphasizes several classic MMORPG qualities: effortful progression, a large world, and reliance on other players. At the same time, it calls for modern refinements such as more dynamic combat and a world that feels active through events, dangers, and secrets.

Social interaction is described as something the game should encourage through its overall structure rather than force through rigid restrictions. This places the design focus on creating conditions where cooperation and shared experiences arise naturally.

Position within the genre

The recording places Scars of Honor within a broader belief that MMORPGs still have room to grow. The game is presented as part of a newer wave of projects informed by lessons from older titles while seeking a stronger future for the genre.
