Origins of the project

Scars of Honor is described as having begun as a passion project. The project initially started as the work of a single developer who aimed to create the kind of MMORPG he personally wanted to play.

The stated motivation was to address a perceived gap in the MMORPG genre. Over time, the project expanded far beyond its original scope, growing from a one-person effort into a larger studio production with around 100 developers involved at the time of the recording.

From hobby project to studio production

The game's development is framed as an unexpected scale-up from a small independent effort into a full team building a shared vision for the game. This growth is presented as central to the identity of the project and to its long-term ambition.
