Nefarimis, Whitestone, and the Soul Ring

The recording revisits two established lore pieces for Scars of Honor: the rise of Nefarimis and the origin of the Soul Ring among the infernal demons. These stories frame major faction conflict in the setting and explain how undead and infernal power became central to the world's political and supernatural order.

Nefarimis and the fall of Whitestone

Nefarimis is described as the only child of King Ne and Queen Elenia and the heir to the throne of Whitestone, capital of the First Kingdom. During a long era of war, she is said to have shown unusual talent for magic and to have delved into dark arts.

Her story includes a pact with the god of squalor, through which she sought redemption from the mortal condition. The result is tied to undeath: keeping the soul required keeping the vessel, a transgression described as one of the worst possible sins.

Because the undead would be considered damned, Nefarimis and her followers initially avoid returning to Whitestone and instead move deeper into the woods to found a new kingdom. She later acquires an ancient amulet from the infernal demons, using it to create the illusion that she is human again.

Disguised in this way, she returns to Whitestone at her father's deathbed and reclaims her place as heir. Her cousin, Lord Venuan Stonehill, is described as one of the few who questions the timing of her return. To remove opposition, she sends potential rivals to war, including Venuan on what is presented as an impossible mission.

After his departure, Nefarimis welcomes the undead into the capital. Whitestone falls, humans are slaughtered or turned, and the city is renamed Gravestone. The fertile lands around it are said to become dead swamps. Venuan returns in time to save some survivors, but the human kingdom is broken and reduced to refugees.

The infernal demons and the Soul Ring

A second lore segment explains the infernal demons' relationship to souls. Their race is described as driven by a burning hunger and by the need to harvest human souls, but individual souls are said not to be enough to secure their future.

The solution comes through the discovery of a relic from the ancient wars of the gods: the Soul Ring. The ring is described as capable of holding all the souls on Aragon and more, but it requires a specific infernal arrangement to function. One infernal entity must be inside the ring to leech souls into the stone, while another remains outside to control it.

This process involves an inferno seal that splits two infernal demons and fuses their halves together. The recording presents the infernal king and queen as willing to undergo this sacrifice, becoming "two hearts beating as one" in order to awaken the ring and elevate their power.

Once activated, the Soul Ring becomes the center of infernal ambition. Human armies marching against the infernal empire are reframed as a source of souls to feed the ring.

Future lore production

The recording indicates interest in producing more lore videos of this type. It also mentions that work on Baron lore had begun but was paused, with the possibility of resuming it later. In addition, new 3D cinematics are said to be in development, though not necessarily tied directly to the same lore format.
