Launcher plans, Steam support, and low-end mobile targets
Scars of Honor is planned to support both a standalone launcher and a Steam release. The standalone launcher is treated as strategically important even though Steam distribution remains part of the plan.
Standalone launcher alongside Steam
The team states that the game will still go to Steam, but also wants its own launcher. The immediate reason is operational control and testing: if the game cannot be downloaded or installed properly, then even a strong game build would still face a major release problem.
The 21 September 2025 community event is used in part to validate this launcher flow under real user conditions.
Timing of the next major build
A major update or public test build is said to be planned for later in 2025, definitely after October. The stated approach is to avoid rushing and to prefer fewer, more substantial tests if that results in a more enjoyable and feature-complete build.
Mobile performance target
The mobile version is described as aiming for low-end device compatibility. The stated goal is to make it run on very modest hardware, with 4 GB RAM phones mentioned in the discussion as the kind of target the team wants to support if possible.
This positions mobile support around broad accessibility rather than only high-end devices.
