Dungeon size iteration

Dungeon testing led to a significant revision of instance scale. Earlier versions were considered too large, which made runs feel like a marathon rather than a focused PvE experience.

Room size and pacing

The revised dungeon layout reduces room size substantially. This change is presented as improving the overall feel of play, making the experience more immediate and enjoyable even before full polish.

The stated design priority is whether a dungeon is fun in practice, not whether its features sound impressive in theory. Procedural dungeons and dungeon augmentations are treated as secondary to the basic moment-to-moment experience.

Effects on performance and production

Smaller rooms are also described as improving performance. In addition, reducing dungeon scale makes it easier to produce more layouts and combinations, increasing variety without relying on oversized spaces.

The revised internal playtest version is described as incomplete but already more successful in terms of pacing and gameplay feel.
