Crafting links to dungeons and endgame gear

Crafting in Scars of Honor is intended to connect to PvE progression rather than existing as a separate side activity. The profession loop is described as intersecting with dungeons, creature drops, and endgame item creation.

Dungeon-related materials

Some crafted items are said to require more than open-world gathering. In addition to harvested resources, certain recipes can call for unique creature drops. These materials may come from specific enemies, including enemies found in greater abundance inside dungeons.

There is also mention of the possibility of rare gathering nodes appearing inside dungeons, although this is presented as something still under consideration rather than a finalized rule.

Risk and item creation

The intended item loop is not limited to safe harvesting. For some recipes, players must gather raw materials, defeat particular creatures for special drops, and then combine everything through crafting. This makes crafted progression partly dependent on combat risk.

The system is therefore meant to tie professions into the broader PvE game rather than letting players obtain every important ingredient from harmless resource nodes alone.

Endgame gear direction

The likely direction for top-end gear is a combination of several activities: gathering, defeating difficult enemies, and crafting. The best equipment is described as probably coming from that combined process rather than from a single source.

At the same time, the game is not intended to create an extreme gap that makes non-crafters ineffective. Players who do not want to invest heavily in professions are still expected to reach gear that is close in power through other gameplay paths.

Group expectations

The recording does not present high-end crafters as a mandatory role in every group. Instead, crafting is framed as a valuable route to optimization and best-in-slot outcomes, while other players can remain viable through combat-focused progression and the economy.

This positions professions as part of the endgame ecosystem without making them an unavoidable gate for all forms of group content.
