First Watch initiative

Scars of Honor introduces First Watch as a community testing initiative for early feedback on prototypes and rough builds. The program is described as free, private, and under NDA, with selected players invited to test specific systems before wider release.

The initiative is intended to shorten the feedback loop between the studio and players. Rather than waiting months to learn that a feature feels wrong, the developers want direct responses on movement, combat, UI, animations, and other systems while they are still being iterated.

Purpose

First Watch is presented as a way to involve a broader range of player types in development, including PvP-focused players, crafters, dungeon players, and traders. The studio says it wants constructive criticism rather than simple approval or rejection, and it values detailed feedback that explains why a feature does or does not work.

How it works

The program uses a private Discord server and focused test sessions. Participants may be asked to try half-finished prototypes, discuss them in interviews, and explain specific concerns in detail. The studio says it will continue to use this style of testing over time, including after launch through PTR-style testing for future updates.

Rewards and rules

Participants may receive exclusive badges, in-game frames, a First Watch title, and possibly cosmetics. The studio also says members may be credited in the game if that is implemented.

The rules are strict: no leaks, no special treatment, and no expectation that participation grants decision-making power. Feedback is collected and reviewed, but final decisions remain with Bisber Entertainment.
