Dual-PC streaming setup and component plan

A dedicated streaming computer is presented as part of a dual-PC setup. The main gaming computer continues to run games locally, while a second machine handles capture, recording, and livestream encoding.

The planned configuration centers on reusing a Ryzen 7950X from the previous gaming system. The build uses an ASUS motherboard, a 1000 W ASUS power supply, 32 GB of RGB memory, a 360 mm liquid cooler, and multiple storage drives.

Streaming workflow

The setup is described as a two-computer arrangement. One PC serves as the gaming machine, while the second PC is reserved for streaming tasks. This separation is intended to offload recording and broadcast work from the gaming system.

An Elgato 4K Pro capture card is identified as a key part of the arrangement. It takes video output from the gaming PC, sends that signal to the streaming PC for recording and livestreaming, and returns the signal for monitoring during play.

Planned hardware roles

The reused Ryzen 7950X is assigned to the streaming PC rather than the gaming PC. The processor is paired with a 360 mm ASUS ROG liquid cooler, which is described as sufficient for the system's thermal needs.

Storage is split by purpose. A 1 TB NVMe drive is intended for the operating system, while a 2 TB NVMe drive is reserved for storing recordings made during streams. The faster NVMe drive is described as reaching about 7,450 MB/s.

Memory capacity is set at 32 GB for the streaming machine, which is considered adequate for that role. By contrast, the gaming PC is said to have 128 GB of RAM, which is characterized as excessive for its use.

Graphics card and power

The build includes a GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. The card is noted as physically large compared with older 70-series GPUs. A 1000 W power supply is selected to support the overall system.

The graphics card is not framed as the primary reason for the machine, since the computer is intended mainly for streaming rather than gaming. Its inclusion is part of completing a full standalone PC capable of capture and output.
