Test classes, talent structure, and dodge mechanics
The playtest includes four classes: Paladin, Mage, Ranger, and Druid. The Paladin receives the most detailed showcase, with emphasis on a large talent structure and multiple build directions.
Class availability in the test
The announced class lineup for the test consists of Paladin, Mage, Ranger, and Druid. These classes form the playable set for the upcoming build.
Paladin talent structure
The Paladin is described as having nearly 300 talent nodes. In addition to the broader talent web, the class has a set of six major nodes that define the main build direction and strongly shape play style.
These major choices appear to support role-leaning or archetype-leaning variants, including examples such as tank-oriented paths and named directions such as Sunbreaker. The system is also described as flexible enough that players can route through the tree toward abilities outside their selected major direction.
Dual spec is mentioned as a feature under consideration, but not confirmed as active for the test.
Paladin abilities and combat presentation
Several Paladin spells are highlighted during the showcase. Avatar of Sanctification is presented as a standout ability, and some abilities are described as functioning like "ultimate" spells because of their stronger visual identity.
A Paladin shield mechanic is shown that blocks incoming projectiles. A separate buff-oriented ability is also referenced, with battleground play cited as a context where it feels especially effective.
The visual effects are acknowledged as unfinished. Spell intensity is considered too uniform in places, and the stated direction is for some abilities to be less visually explosive while signature abilities remain more dramatic.
Dodge system
A general dodge system is present in the build. It is described as a movement-based defensive mechanic that can help avoid incoming projectiles.
The feature is not treated as fully settled. Its animation and transition timing, especially at the end of the movement, are identified as areas needing improvement. There is also explicit uncertainty about whether the dodge mechanic should remain in the game in its current form.
For the Mage, the equivalent movement ability is Blink, described as a fast teleport with clearer design confidence behind it. The broader plan is for every class to have some form of dodge or evasive movement system.
