World setting and visual direction

Scars of Honor is set in a classical fantasy world designed around exploration and discovery. The world is presented as containing varied environments, distinct enemy types, and a broad visual identity intended to preserve a traditional MMO feel while using newer rendering techniques.

The art direction favors stylization over realism. Materials such as metal are intended to read more convincingly than in older flat-colored styles, but character rendering is not aimed at photorealism. Instead, the visual approach emphasizes exaggerated shapes and silhouettes.

Fantasy setting and exploration

The world is built to encourage movement through different environments that feel distinct from one another. Enemies and locations are meant to support a sense of discovery across the game's regions.

Two competing factions are part of the setting. Their motivations and core traits are reflected visually in their designs.

Race, armor, and architectural identity

The game features multiple races, and each race is described as being designed to fit the game's lore. Visual identity is carried through race design as well as weapons, armor, and architecture, so that each culture reads as part of a coherent world.

The races named in the captions are human, dwarf, undead, and infernal demon.

Stylized creature design

Creature design follows the same stylized principles as the playable world. Enemies are based on recognizable archetypes but are adapted to fit the specific visual language of Scars of Honor.

Readability is emphasized. Enemy silhouettes are intended to be recognizable from a distance so that players can identify what kind of encounter they are approaching before combat begins.
