Gronthar rework and skybox updates
The video presents a visual comparison between older 2024-era assets and newer art for Scars of Honor, with particular focus on the Gronthar race and environmental rendering.
Gronthar model rework
Older Gronthar models are shown as part of a before-and-after comparison. The new version is presented as a substantial redesign, with both female and male models displayed.
The update is framed as part of a broader visual overhaul affecting character models, graphics, and combat presentation over roughly two years of development. The new Gronthar model is not yet fully integrated with final animation, but the redesign is treated as a major improvement over the earlier version.
Visual evolution of the game
The comparison emphasizes how different the game now looks from its earlier state. Combat visuals, character presentation, and overall asset quality are all described as having changed significantly since the older footage.
Skybox and cloud work
The environment rendering also receives an update, especially the skybox. The newer sky presentation includes more visible blending between conditions, including transitions into rainier-looking states.
The cloud system remains work in progress. Planned improvements include better cloud visuals and cloud shadows cast onto the ground to increase immersion. The current implementation is presented as an intermediate state rather than a final version.
