Armor concept art and production pipeline
Scars of Honor's newer armor work is presented as a shift away from relying on body-applied textures alone. The showcased pieces emphasize visible volume and more pronounced forms, with the stated goal of making armor silhouettes and surface treatment feel materially different from earlier approaches.
The examples shown are described as work in progress rather than final in-game assets. Several pieces are identified as untextured explorations, intended to communicate shape, coverage, and overall direction before final implementation.
Shift in armor presentation
The previewed armor concepts are used to illustrate a different art style for equipment. Instead of appearing as simple texture layers on a character body, the armor is shown with stronger three-dimensional massing and clearer physical structure. This change is framed as a broader visual upgrade to how armor is portrayed.
A mage armor example is specifically used to demonstrate this approach. The emphasis is on the armor's volume rather than on finished materials or color work.
Concept-to-model workflow
The armor pipeline begins with 2D concept exploration. Different visual routes are tested first, and only after the team agrees on a direction does production move toward a final asset.
Some of the showcased pieces are described as ZBrush sculpts rather than assets already placed in Unity or finalized for the game. These sculpts function as exploratory proposals for how an armor set could be shaped or how much of the body it could cover. Texturing and engine integration are presented as later stages.
Work-in-progress status
The preview repeatedly distinguishes concept exploration from finished content. The armors shown are not final, not fully textured, and in several cases not yet seen in the playable game.
This material is presented as evidence of a large volume of ongoing armor production. The art team is described as generating many concepts across multiple classes, making the preview more of a snapshot of active visual development than a reveal of completed equipment sets.
